Citizens in the UK and United States have reported similar large, glowing objects in the sky that have been described as looking like an “octopus,” “jellyfish,” “amoeba,” “cocoon” and having “a biological shape.”
The most recent case involves an investigation into damage to a wind turbine near Conisholme, England.
Around the time of the damage to the 213-foot-high wind turbine, a UFO was spotted that witnesses said had “tentacles of light,” the Guardian newspaper reported.
Local resident John Harrison said he witnessed a "massive ball of light with tentacles going right down to the ground" above a nearby wind turbine farm on Jan. 4, 2009. "It was huge. With the tentacles it looked just like an octopus," he was quoted as saying by the UK newspaper The Sun.
This description is similar to that of a local law enforcement and public safety officer in the Stephenville, Texas, region who described a UFO he saw on police video in January 2008 as being like a “jellyfish.”
A woman in central-eastern Ohio saw a large orange glowing thing in the sky near her home in the early morning hours of Nov. 2, 2008. She described it as looking like an “amoeba.” It changed shape as it moved at a low altitude above the trees, she said.
In the early morning hours of Oct. 23, 2008, an Ohio truck driver with a background in military aviation reported seeing a glowing yellow and white object that “seemed like a biological shape” and “organic” above the tree line in eastern Ohio near the Ohio River. He also said it resembled a “cocoon.”
Early this month, a UK resident in Wimbleton posted feedback on a local-version Web site of The Guardian newspaper for the Wandsworth and Putney region. The reader, identified as “jonobb” wrote that he saw “a large bright pink jelly-fish looking object surrounded by a pink haze.”
The resident wrote the following: “Until this morning I was skeptical about UFO sightings. I looked out my flat window (in wimbledon) this morning over towards Merton way and to my surprise notice a large bright pink jelly-fish looking object surrounded by a pink haze. it appeared to be hovering over or above the pylons in the distance.”
His feedback post continued: “It hovered for about 5 minutes while I frantically searched for my camera still not quite understanding what it could possibly be? I finally found my camera and took a couple of pics, unfortunately it had moved further away and was a lot smaller than when i first noticed it. within 15 seconds it shot from site. Id love to post the picture but dont see an option here for attachments. did anyone else in wimbledon see it at approx. 0805hrs thurs 9 jan 2009? any explanations?”
The accounts by the Texas peace officer, the Ohio woman and the Ohio truck driver were all reported by Emmy Award-winning TV producer, investigative reporter and author Linda Moulton Howe on her Web site Earthfiles.com. Photos from the truck driver of the glowing “cocoon” and a huge object above it are also posted on the site.
MECHANICAL, BIOLOGICAL, METAPHYSICAL
Those who are interested in or conduct research on UFOs have noted various sizes, shapes and materials that seem to be associated with them.
The classic disc and cigar shapes have been reported. Triangle or boomerang shapes have also been allegedly spotted.
Sizes of these kinds of objects or craft seem to vary. Some may be the size of a large truck or aircraft, while others are reported to be massive, such as the 1997 “Phoenix lights” case, the recent Empire, Ohio, craft sighted by a truck driver above the “cocoon” and in many other incidents.
Normally, people may think that some kind of metallic, composite or similar material might be part of the construction of these objects, which many speculate could be some kind of spacecraft or secret man-made military aircraft. We can imagine exotic propulsion and navigation systems and other capabilities.
However, many UFOs are reported to appear simply as light or energy of some kind. Whether this is the nature of the UFO itself, an energy field around it, a phenomena occurring as a UFO passes into or out of our space or dimension, a natural phenomena or something else seems unclear.
Of course, biological elements of UFOs are not new. Some people have reported encounters with beings who may look very human, may be somewhat like humans or, in some cases, are clearly living creatures but do not appear very similar to humans.
The accounts in the UK, Texas and Ohio of large glowing things that witnesses immediately and instinctively correlate with a jellyfish, octopus, amoeba or cocoon might indicate that these could be living organisms of some kind.
Of course, this is only speculation. The UFOs described in these cases could be totally unrelated and a reasonable and conventional explanation may be available for them.
If, however, these actually are some type of visiting beings from outside our known conventional environment, they could take forms and shapes that seem very puzzling to us.
It seems to be our responsibility to keep open minds, consider all reasonable explanations and prepare for the possibility that we could be encountering unconventional and unusual phenomena that we do not fully understand at this time.
At the same time, it may be helpful to understand that our national defense, military, intelligence and scientific communities may be trying to handle very sensitive and complex situations of this nature. If this is the case, then their reluctance to be completely open may be based on legitimate and important considerations.
